John Ouano started training in 1994 with his brother-in-law who was then training with Royce Gracie. Soon after took formal lessons with Jean-Jacques Machado. In 1995 when Carlson Gracie Sr. moved to Los Angeles John became Carlson Gracie's first student at his West Los Angeles school. John has also taught at the Carlson Gracie Academy with Rodrigo Medeiros, Vitor Belfort and Carlson's best blackbelts. When Carlson's Academy closed, he then started teaching with Rodrigo Medeiros at his academy where John received his black belt. In December 2002 opened New Breed Academy with John Ramirez a long time student and friend. John Ouano (Santa Fe Springs, CA.), Rodrigo Medeiros (Pacific Beach, CA.) and Julio Fernandez (Burlington, Vermont) are founders of BJJ Revolution Team (Carlson Gracie Team) and has affiliate academies across the United States and overseas |
